Core Promise
A local business built on care
H Parsons began as a small family business in 1893 and has grown alongside the communities of the NSW South Coast. While facilities and services have evolved, our commitment remains the same. We continue to focus on personalised, dignified care, practical guidance and supporting families in ways that respect individual needs.
Today, we operate funeral homes across Wollongong, Bulli, Dapto, Warilla, Kiama and Nowra, as well as Bollerang House in Wandandian.
What guides how we show up for families and our community
The Parsons Pillars guide how H Parsons operates as a funeral director and as a local business within the Illawarra and Shoalhaven. They reflect our responsibility to families, the community and the world around us.
Environmental sustainability
We are committed to reducing the environmental impact of funerals through considered initiatives and long term responsibility.
Social responsibility
Social responsibility has been part of the culture of H Parsons since 1893, guiding how we care for families and support our people.
Local community
We have deep connections within the communities we serve and support charities, sporting clubs and community organisations across the region.
Local business
Supporting local suppliers has been part of our foundation since the beginning, strengthening the communities we live and work in.
H Parsons commitment to environmental sustainability
At H Parsons Funeral Directors, environmental responsibility is part of how we operate across our services, facilities and partnerships. We recognise that funeral care involves materials, energy use and processes, and we take practical steps to reduce impact where possible.
This includes both operational improvements and considered choices that support our local community. For families who wish to consider environmental factors as part of funeral planning, our team can explain what choices are available and how they may apply to the service.
Sustainability initiatives
Greenacre’s Art & Floristry Program
Funeral flowers are donated after services and repurposed into new floral creations. This program provides meaningful opportunities for individuals to express themselves through art while reducing waste.
Energy efficiency through solar
Solar panels were installed across all H Parsons facilities in 2021, contributing to a reduction in energy use across our operations.
Mountain View Crematoria
The cremator at Mountain View Crematoria is designed to minimise emissions and power requirements, supporting more efficient operation. A range of biodegradable urns is also available, offering families additional options when considering memorialisation.
The people behind the service
H Parsons employs more than 80 local staff across funeral operations, administration, mortuary care, crematorium services and catering.
The staff at H Parsons are what makes the organisation what it is. Each person plays a role in ensuring families are supported with dignity, respect and professionalism throughout the funeral process.
Our team includes experienced funeral directors and qualified mortuary professionals who care for your loved one with skill, attention and respect. They are supported by ongoing access to industry best practice training and clear professional standards.
Our full time team is supported by a number of casual staff who bring a diverse range of skills and experience to the organisation. Their contribution is valued and plays an important role in supporting families and maintaining the standard of care H Parsons is known for.

Our hearse fleet
H Parsons maintains a large local vehicle fleet to support funeral services across the Illawarra and Shoalhaven. Our fleet includes modern Volkswagen hearses, alongside traditional Holden vehicles, allowing families to choose an option that feels appropriate for the service and their preferences.
We can also arrange motorcycle hearses and other custom vehicles on request, where suitable. Your funeral director will explain the available options clearly and help guide this choice as part of the arrangement process.
In the media
Recognised through local stories and community conversations
From time to time, H Parsons is included in media coverage that reflects our role within the Illawarra and Shoalhaven community. These stories often focus on local issues, community involvement and the evolving nature of funeral care.
Media coverage is not something we actively seek, but when it occurs, it reflects the trust placed in H Parsons as a long standing, locally known funeral director with deep ties to the region.
