Funeral Slideshow and Life Story Presentations
A visual way to reflect on a life and share memories
A funeral slideshow, also known as a life story presentation, is a visual tribute created using photographs, music and video. It is commonly played during a funeral service, memorial service or celebration of life, offering a quiet moment of reflection for family and friends.
H Parsons supports families with funeral slideshow presentations that are respectful, personal and appropriate for the service setting, whether prepared by our team or created by you.
Reflection Wall
A visual way to personalise the service
Leading the way in innovation is part of how H Parsons supports families. We have embraced technology and feature the Reflection Wall at our Wollongong & Wandandian Chapels.
Casting a single image, a series of images or a video across the full Reflection Wall is a simple and thoughtful way to personalise a funeral service. It allows families and guests to reflect on moments, memories and passions that mattered throughout a life.
Life story presentations, funeral slideshows and visual tributes can all be displayed on the Reflection Wall, creating a calm visual presence that supports reflection without distraction.
H Parsons Life Story Presentations
prepared for you
If you would prefer support with creating a funeral slideshow, our team can prepare the life story presentation for you.
An audio visual specialist from H Parsons will introduce themselves and provide a secure link for you to upload photos. They will be available to answer questions and guide you through the process.
For best results when our team prepares the presentation:
- Photos should be provided in jpeg format
- 40 photos is the optimal number of images
- On most devices including phones, tablets and computers
- Number photos from 1 to 40 in the order they should appear
- Label the photo for the title page as “title”
- Nominate one song for the presentation
- A song or instrumental of 3 to 3.5 minutes is ideal
- Our specialist will adjust the music to best fit the duration of the presentation
This option allows families to focus on selecting meaningful images while our team manages the technical setup.
How to create a funeral
slideshow yourself
Families may choose to create a life story presentation themselves using software they are comfortable with, such as PowerPoint, a mobile app or desktop software.
The final presentation must be provided in:
- Video format Mpeg 4 MP4
- Landscape orientation
The final presentation must be provided in:
- Create a title page at the beginning and repeat it at the end
- This helps the funeral director know when to start and stop the presentation
- 40 photos is the optimal number of images
- Music can be added to the presentation
- If a 3 minute song is used with 40 photos, each image will display for approximately 4 seconds
- The duration of the slideshow should match the duration of the selected music
Step by step guide using PowerPoint
Families using PowerPoint can follow these steps:
- Create 42 slides
- Slide 1 is the beginning title page
- Slides 2 to 41 each contain one photo
- Slide 42 is the end title page
- You may use a colour or image background
- Add music by inserting audio on slide 2 and selecting “play in background”
- Export the presentation as a video in Mpeg 4 format
- Adjust the length of the video to match the music duration
